Read the posting twice
First read for the big picture: what problem is this role hired to solve? Second read with a highlighter: mark required skills, tools, and repeated phrases.
Repeated words usually signal what matters most to the hiring team.
Map your real experience
For each highlighted requirement, write down one place in your work history where you actually did it. If you can't find one, leave it out — never add skills or results you don't have.
Transferable experience counts. Training new coworkers is evidence of coaching; handling complaints is evidence of customer service.
Use the employer's words where they're true
If the posting says "client onboarding" and you did exactly that under a different name, use their phrasing. It helps both people and screening software recognize the match.
Reorder, don't rewrite everything
Move your most relevant bullets to the top of each role, and trim bullets that don't relate to this job. Small, focused changes are often enough.
