Job search

How to organize your job search so nothing slips

Track applications, set follow-up dates, and focus on quality over volume.

Choose quality over volume

A smaller number of well-tailored applications usually beats sending the same resume everywhere. Pick roles you genuinely fit and tailor each one.

Track every application

Record the company, job title, date applied, status, and a follow-up date. A simple tracker keeps you from losing opportunities or repeating yourself.

Follow up politely

If you haven't heard back after about a week or two, a brief, friendly follow-up is appropriate. Restate your interest in one or two sentences.

Use your network

Tell former coworkers, friends, and community contacts what kind of role you're looking for. Many opportunities come through people you already know.
